One of the most popular joint medications is a supplement called Cosequin, which many consumers have purchased in the past. They have bought it to help support joint function in their dogs. What what exactly is Cosequin? It's best to know what you are buying so that you know your money is being well spent. Some of you may be under the impression Cosequin is a drug; in fact it is not - it's just a brand. It is pretty much the same product as Healthy Joints Glucosamine/Chondroitin/MSM?, another joint product. It is the difference between using a brand name and the name of a substance. If you dog has only certain requirements, Consequin is pretty good, with several strengths and both chewables and capsules to choose from. Cosequin should not be your choice though if you require MSM. Maybe it was a passing comment from your vet that you should give your dog Consequin, but he may have been using the brand name instead of citing the supplement. Consequin is not the only choice. There are many brands that may be suitable, so it might be best to query your vet a little on exactly what supplementary need is being addressed. Maybe Consequin is the best choice, but there could be a better one. The holy trinity of MSM, Glucosamine and Chondroitin can be found in a variety of products. Pet Nutrition products are created from the best ingredients and you can be sure what you get in the bottle is what is described. This is not always the case with inferior brands so save your money and go for a brand like Pet Nutrition which give you a fair deal.
