Inexpensive Romantic Date Ideas

By: Marc Sandford

A date can easily cost hundreds of dollars. If you make the right choices, this doesn't have to happen to you. With a little imagination and some planning in advance, your inexpensive date can be anything but cheap.

In fact, it may have a greater romantic impact than the typical dating ritual. The reason is that you aren't doing the usual things together. Routine things are quickly forgotten and are never romantic.

What an inexpensive date is lacking in big bucks can be more than made up for in excitement and romantic sizzle. Forget the expensive dating routine and consider the following tips.

1.) Go on a picnic. It's only as expensive as the food that you pack and it should be more economical than what is spent at a fancy restaurant.

Bring along sandwiches. Or with a bit more effort, you can bring some fried chicken and potato salad. And bring some wine and cheese to facilitate the romance.

Alternatively, you could bring your grill, and whatever you want to grill and have a barbeque picnic.

2.) Large college campuses typically have plenty of social events happening. They are usually quite varied and inexpensive. This is because students live on a budget and large universities attract students from home and abroad.

This guarantees that a lot of different activities are available. So pick one of these activities and make it a date.

3.) If you live in a very large city, check out the city park. The bigger cities have extravagant parks with outdoor food vendors, even free concerts, and ponds full of swans and ducks. Plan a jog (if you're athletic) or a walk that takes advantage of everything in the park.

You can feed the ducks or just relax to the noise of a water fountain. If it's winter, there might be a skating rink.

With a fair amount of thought and planning, an inexpensive date can be romantic, exciting, and definitely not cheap.
