Insurance for Visitors from India - Plan for safe Travel

By: Suchi V

Flying long distances for business or pleasure is very common these days. Being stuck in an economy seat for a long time it is not a lot of fun. Some simple tips can be followed to make your flight more enjoyable.

Select your seats by consulting seat map guides online, especially if you are traveling in a group. You can request the seats you prefer while buying the plans. Sometimes getting to the airport early may help you get the seat you want. If you want extra leg room you can get the bulkhead seats or the seats in the exit row. Try not to get seats near the restrooms and the food prep area.

A neck pillow is a must for people with neck and back issues. The airline pillow can be kept on your lower back for some extra support. Twist your torso every once in a while to keep it loose and limber.

Swollen feet can be avoided if you rotate your feet in a circular motion at the ankle. Stretch your feet and flex them often to keep the circulation going. Deep vein thrombosis (blood clots in the veins) is a dangerous condition that can be avoided by walking and moving around in the cabin every few hours.

Moisturize your skin often, the in flight air is very dry and can make you uncomfortable. You can also use sprays with essential oils on a damp face cloth to revitalize your skin. Drink plenty of water and avoid dehydrating drinks like alcohol and coffee.

Changes in air pressure can make your ears pop. Chewing gum, yawning and drinking fluids can relieve those symptoms. You can get a terrible earache if you have a cold or an infection so be extra careful.

Your clothes must be loose and comfortable preferably in natural fabrics. Do not wear uncomfortable and tight shoes. It can sometimes be cold in the flight so it is a good idea to carry a light jacket or a sweater.

Having health insurance is a must when you travel abroad. You can be covered during transit if you include the dates of travel in your insurance. Your travel insurance agent can help you select the best plan.
