By: Jack Oneal

Every musician recognizes that the left hand and right hand don't always want to cooperate when it comes to playing an instrument. This is especially true for those learning to play guitar. They key to resolving this issue is to understand the culprit.

It is vital to slow down your playing until you can decide which hand is out of sync. You will be simply wasting your time doing picking exercises for your right hand when it is your left hand's strength and endurance that is the actual cause of your problem.

For most beginners the left hand requires some attention, it could be weaker than it needs to be or just simply awkward.

What would you do if you knew a way to strengthen your left hand fingers faster than you could imagine? The good news is that you can find a lot of methods that will increase your left hands speed and endurance. The following is only one of them:

- Guitar Lessons For Beginners - 5 steps to strengthening your left hand fingers.

Step 1 - Assume a starting position of your first finger behind the first fret on the the first string and your third finger behind the third fret on the second string. It is important to make sure both fingers come down on the strings at the exact same time. Next swap your fingers so that your first finger is on the second string behind the first fret and your third finger is behind the third fret on the first string.

Step 2 - Position your left hand so the first finger is behind the first fret on the first string and your third finger is behind the third fret on the third string. Next, change your fingers so your first finger is on the third string behind the first fret and your third finger is on the first string behind the third fret.

Third step, Now you must place your 1st finger behind the 1st fret, 1st string and your 3rd finger behind the 3rd fret, 4th string. Now flick your fingers over as follows.. 1st finger behind the 1st fret, 4th string and 3rd finger behind 3rd fret, 1st string.

The fourth step, now place your 1st finger behind the 1st fret, 1st string with your 3rd finger behind the 3rd fret, 5th string. Next you flick your fingers over so the 1st finger is behind the 1st fret, 5th string and the 3rd finger behind fret 3, string 1.

Step 5 - Final stretch! Finger one, fret one, string one and finger three, fret three, string six. Last switch. Finger one, fret one, string six. Finger three, fret three, string one.

Additional Advice: Play these exercises using your right hand fingers, not a pick. Plus, make sure to practice these exercises very slowly so you are certain your hands are in sync. with each other.

It will be the most beneficial if you practice these exercises once or twice a week. You will quickly see that after just a few practice sessions you will be able to see more strength and accuracy forming in your left hand.
