For as long as I can remember, I've always had a soft spot for candy. All kinds and flavors, it didn't matter as long as it was sweet and interesting. When I think of the ones that I loved growing up, I'm surprised to realize that many of them can't be found in stores these days.They used to be mainstays in candy stores, pharmacies, and grocery stores, but they seem to be gone and out of reach these days. Let's take a look at some of the more enjoyable candies from the past that no longer seem to exist.Bonkers candy. Remember this one? It was a chewy candy. Really chewy in fact. There was one fruit flavor on the outside of the candy, with a second color and flavor on the inside.From the grape and strawberry fruit flavors to a tasty chocolate flavored chewy candy, there was a lot to love about Bonkers. Unfortunately, they quietly removed themselves from the candy scene. This came as a surprise to me and many friends as well.Bubble gum was seemingly more popular 20 years ago than it is today. One of the most prominent forms of gum that I remember is the kind that came inside a mini juice box. There was a face on the front, and they were offered in a few flavors.The gum came in the form of small pellets, and people would essentially sip it from the box as if they were drinking juice. They would chew it from there, of course.Mars bars. These were a really big one not too long ago, but they no longer exist. Where are they? The Mars company is still around, so where did these go?The Mars bar still exists, only they call it Snickers almond. There wasn't much of an announcement made when this happened, but you'll notice that the ingredients are the same should you happen to try one.Ah, the good old days. How sweet they were.
